Raw Vegan Blueberry Muffin ( Yes, Green) Smoothie

Before I started drinking green smoothies, I was terrified of them. Even though I’d gone vegan at age 14, the thought of drinking blended greens seemed disgusting. Everyone raves about green smoothies but I have to take the time to acknowledge that they might seem intimidating or gross to many people new to the raw food lifestyle. I hear you, I was you, and I support you!

With that in mind, please know that I take great care to develop smoothie recipes that are delicious and downright crave-worthy.

This recipe is no exception. It’s like blueberry muffins with fresh vanilla. Creamy, cold and so nutritious, this smoothie will leave you satisfied and smiling.

Raw Vegan Blueberry Muffin ( Yes, Green) Smoothie

Ingredients:

3 frozen bananas in chunks
2 cups frozen blueberries
1 teaspoon vanilla powder
2 scoops Sunwarrior raw vegan vanilla protein powder
3-4 cups baby spinach
3-4 cups water as needed

Directions:

Place greens and water at the bottom of your blender* followed by remaining ingredients. Blend and add more water as needed. Store in wide-mouth glass jars with plastic lids. Try to drink smoothies with protein powder within 24 hours of making them, otherwise I find they become oddly chalky.

*This recipe makes too much to fit in a NutriBullet, so cut it into thirds to start and see how much your NutriBullet can handle first.

Yours in delicious heath,
Natalie
