As a distance runner, I can tell you that drinking green smoothies and green juices is a true game changer in your fitness regime in terms of the three following issues:

– HYDRATION

All three are positively impacted by the addition of more sweet fruits and abundant leafy greens. As you add more fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet, you might be happy to discover that your level of physical performance can really be improved. Ingredients:

1-2 ripe persimmons
2 packed cups of curly kale
1 banana
3 cups frozen pineapple
10 medjool dates, pits removed
3 ½ cups water

Directions:

Placing your greens and water at the bottom of your container, blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender. If your blender isn't very powerful, blend slowly and in stages until creamy consistency is achieved. Store in airtight containers for a meal that will last at least half your day, if not longer! I prefer glass jars with plastic lids.
